The North Terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport is inching toward competing with its McNamara rival for food selections by adding three new eating options. On deck, Air Margaritaville, the airport version of Jimmy Buffett’s restaurant, Detroit Street Café pouring Zingerman’s Coffee, and Atwater Brewery. Air Margaritaville and Detroit Street Café swung open their doorways on June five, while Atwater Brewery opened on June 1. The trio follows the April beginning of metro Detroit’s favorite Cantoro Italian Market Trattoria.
They’re all part of phase one of a four-part $21 million food redevelopment attempt in the North Terminal, which has had far fewer selections in eating than the McNamara Terminal — a domestic hub for Delta Airlines. Later this summer season, MOD Pizza, National Coney Island, and Starbucks are expected to become available.
Other additions will encompass several names acquainted with metro Detroit, including Jolly Pumpkin Taphouse, Anita’s Kitchen Lebanese Café, and Common Grace Coffee Company.
